Some ornament styles incorporate found objects.

From the Artist:
When I began making ornaments I primarily used clear finishes, thus I selected wood species for each component with complimentary grain patterns and tones. I harvest and mill a significant portion of my own wood turning blanks and many of my ornament blanks are milled from remnants of larger pieces. Over time the process has evolved into using transparent dyes over spalted wood components, texturing, pyrography and gilding cream or acrylic paints for accents. The introduction of found items such as sea urchin shells into my ornament work coupled with dyed curly maple finials provides unique color contrasts.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0311/0859/5757/files/BrianMaguire_SeaUrchinswithBirdhouseandHollowForm.jpg?v=1781709889
https://www.petersvalleygallery.org/products/sea-urchins-with-birdhouse-and-hollow-form-by-brian-maguire
