The terra sigillata surfaces can be used at all temperatures ranges and firing methods. This allows me to finish fire my work in a variety of ways. In atmospheric kilns, like a wood kiln, the terra sigillatas interact with wood ash, melting together to create new colors. In some of the earliest pottery, humans have used terra sigillatas, or settle clay slips, to encourage water tightness in cooking vessels. Today, artist use terra sigillatas not only for their water tightness, but also for their color and delicate surface that highlights the textures and marks remaining from the process.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0311/0859/5757/files/RhondaWillers_DoubleJoinedVesseldetail2.jpg?v=1782583317
