From the Artist:
I use terra sigillatas, or refined clay slips, to cover the surfaces of my work because of their versatility and connection to historical ceramic works. The terra sigillata surfaces can be used at all temperatures ranges and firing methods. This allows me to finish fire my work in a variety of ways. In atmospheric kilns, like a wood kiln, the terra sigillatas interact with wood ash, melting together to create new colors. In some of the earliest pottery, humans have used terra sigillatas, or settle clay slips, to encourage water tightness in cooking vessels. Today, artist use terra sigillatas not only for their water tightness, but also for their color and delicate surface that highlights the textures and marks remaining from the process.

Items purchased through our Craft Fair Exhibitors will have applied shipping rates set by the exhibitor and will vary. Allow 2 weeks for orders to ship.
Exhibition Shipping Rates are not calculated at checkout, but will be invoiced separately to reflect the exact shipping cost of the item.
*Please note that all online and in-person purchases of Exhibition work while the show is up will remain in the gallery until the show's end date. After the show's end date the work can be picked up or shipped to you.
Special Rate Items are items that are over-sized or not eligible for free shipping over $250. You total order will be charged a flat rate of $25 to ship. Special Rate Items will be noted as such in the item's description.

Sales Tax
Peters Valley is required to charge sales tax on purchases shipped to New Jersey.
Insurance
Insurance can be purchased separately through third-party company Route during checkout. Route provides protection for shipments that are lost, broken, or stolen. Route is added to your cart at checkout to enable protection by default, but can be removed if you chose to opt out of insuring your order. If you choose to opt out of the Route Insurance, and your package is lost, stolen or damaged, you will have to file a claim with the shipping carrier directly.
