The woven tapestry depicts the migration of a swan, the act of carrying oneself to a more hospitable location. The swan, who must live, does so by existing in the land, lake, and sky. The swan develops new muscles for new worlds, different ways to move and to speak.\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eFrom the Artist:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003eQueerness Is a Beast and The Call of The Swan\u003c\/em\u003e accumulated throughout a year. I first began the piece at Peter's Valley School of Craft, then continued the work as a resident at Luna Parc, eventually finishing it in my New Jersey apartment. The materials I used all stemmed from these three places. I used what I already had, what was around me, what I was gracious given, and what my community wanted to share.
