Three Dimensional Alabaster Sculpture
Most of my work lately has been figurative in nature. I primarily work with the head or parts of the face. This piece is a commentary on the state of our society, specifically the legal system. The head is carved away, showing the decay of the system. The blindfold is tied at the side that is reminicent of a Samurai warrior to indicate the weaponization of the legal system. The facial features are gaunt and sever to indicate the power of money in our legal system and what happens if you don't have it. I start the sculpture with a rough alabaster stone and use its natural shape to dictate much of the initial shape. I hand carved this piece with a series of diamond burn, knives and rasps. This piece has a sanded and polished face and head with a rough cloth mask. The face and head are sealed with linseed oil and wax and the cloth is left natural to provide the contrast and make the cloth a little more believable.

Items purchased through our Craft Fair Exhibitors will have applied shipping rates set by the exhibitor and will vary. Allow 2 weeks for orders to ship.
Exhibition Shipping Rates are not calculated at checkout, but will be invoiced separately to reflect the exact shipping cost of the item.
*Please note that all online and in-person purchases of Exhibition work while the show is up will remain in the gallery until the show's end date. After the show's end date the work can be picked up or shipped to you.
Special Rate Items are items that are over-sized or not eligible for free shipping over $250. You total order will be charged a flat rate of $25 to ship. Special Rate Items will be noted as such in the item's description.

Sales Tax
Peters Valley is required to charge sales tax on purchases shipped to New Jersey.
Insurance
Insurance can be purchased separately through third-party company Route during checkout. Route provides protection for shipments that are lost, broken, or stolen. Route is added to your cart at checkout to enable protection by default, but can be removed if you chose to opt out of insuring your order. If you choose to opt out of the Route Insurance, and your package is lost, stolen or damaged, you will have to file a claim with the shipping carrier directly.
