It has been
carefully constructed through a slow process of layering and
drying crushed and liquified clays; finally finished with a
strategically placed selection of larger "boulders" that mimic
the surface of a square parcel of barren land, to scale, as
boulder-field. The mass itself has been inverted and
subsequently implicated as a "ground anchor" in the broader
context of the parent work, conceptually and physically. The
system you see here has been isolated, removed and
transposed from its parent apparatus; installed as an ongoing
body of work at the artist’s home studio.
