 Peters Valley School of Craft is pleased to present Making Matters: Fresh Perspectives in Fine Craft, on view in the Sally D. Francisco Gallery from June 13 through July 31, 2026. The exhibition celebrates the work of Peters Valley’s visiting instructors and artistic staff, highlighting the breadth and vitality of contemporary fine craft.

Rooted in its mission to enrich lives through the learning, appreciation, and practice of fine craft, Peters Valley has fostered creative exploration through immersive workshops and educational programs for more than 55 years. Each year, more than 150 nationally and internationally recognized artists teach workshops across a wide range of disciplines, including blacksmithing, ceramics, fibers, fine metals and jewelry, woodworking, photography, printmaking, and special topics such as glass, painting, and sculpture.

Making Matters features over 65 individual works, representative of Peters Valley’s programming made by visiting instructors and studio staff. Providing a refreshing combination of contemporary American Craft including  functional and sculptural ceramics, woven and textile works, furniture and woodcraft, forged metalwork, mixed media sculpture, art jewelry and more.  showcasing both traditional craftsmanship and contemporary experimentation and innovation.

Weekly gallery receptions with light refreshments will be held Fridays from 5–6 PM, June 19 through July 31, offering visitors the opportunity to meet featured instructors and artists.  In addition to exhibitions and the retail gallery, visitors are invited to enjoy free self-guided campus tours on Saturdays and Sundays from 2–5 PM. And on Thursday  evenings, during July and August,  artist presentations at 7:00PM at the dining pavilion. All free and open to the public..
